About Fuil Na Seanchoille
Formed in 2008, Fuil Na Seanchoille (Blood of the Old Forest) initially a black metal entity, helmed by main-man Satyrign. The debut album, 'Hunger' was first released on cassette by Tour de Garde in 2011 and six years later got a vinyl release. This is pure raw low-fi black metal.Fui Na Seanchoille released their second full length 'The Crossing', comprised of a single 29-minute composition formed over an eight-year period. The ambitious piece starts off with some haunting sean-nos singing and atmospheric sounds before transitioning into the central black metal section of the piece before calming down into the final atmospheric section.
Fómhar, the third album from Fuil Na Seanchoille was released in July 2024. Quite far from the early raw black metal of Hunger this is atmospheric droning soundscapes divided into four tracks for the four seasons. It features resonance sounds recorded at Newgrange.
