About Miracle of Sound
Miracle of Sound is the project of musician, producer, and songwriter Gavin Dunne from Cork. Miracle of Sound is hugely successful and popular with more than a billion total streams and a fanbase that spans the world. Dunne began his career in Cork bands such as Lotus Lullaby before launching his solo project Miracle of Sound in 2011. Working entirely independently from his home studio, he has become one of the most successful creators of music inspired by video games, movies, and pop culture. His ability to craft cinematic, emotionally charged songs across multiple genres has earned him a dedicated global following.
Dunne’s work as Miracle of Sound spans an eclectic range of styles — from Nordic style folk metal /Viking metal to orchestral and electronic music — with each song tailored to the themes and atmosphere of its subject. His breakout hit Commander Shepard, inspired by the Mass Effect series, went viral in 2011 and established him as a major figure in the gaming music scene. Since then, he has released hundreds of songs, amassing millions of streams and views across platforms.
Over the years, Miracle of Sound has collaborated with major gaming studios including Ubisoft, Bioware, Bethesda, and EA, creating both official and fan-inspired works that highlight his versatility as a composer and lyricist. Despite his success, Dunne remains fully independent, handling all aspects of writing, recording, mixing, and production himself.
In 2024, Miracle of Sound released their first physical album, Materia (Best Of 2011–2024), through Napalm Records. , Gavin Dunne has proven that independent artists can thrive on creativity, passion, and connection. In 2025, he plans to return to the stage with a full live band, bringing the cinematic power of Miracle of Sound’s music to audiences in person for the first time in years.
Miracle of Sound also performs live with a full band and has played on the festival circuit in Europe including Wacken Open Air in 2025.
