About Jester

Jester hail from Thurles, Co. Tipperary. Formed in the wake of the legendary Féile concerts in the 90's, Jester as kids were mesmerized by the rock and roll circus that rolled into this sleepy town every summer and instilled something in this 5 piece that has led to where they are today.

May 4th 2007 saw the release of Jester’s debut single “Maria”, which without the backing of a label or management company achieved No.40 in the IRMA Irish Chart and number 1 in the Irish Downloadmusic chart. “Maria” also featured on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show & could be regularly heard spinning on Beat Fm, as well as other local stations. This offering was produced by Martin Quinn of Jam Studios, Co.Meath.

To date the lads have played headline shows in established venues as The Sugar Club, Eamon Doranns, Voodoo Lounge & Dolans Warehouse. Jester also recorded a live track "Voodoo" on The Miriam O’Callaghan show on RTE. During the course of their touring the lads have been fortunate enough to have played a successful 45 minute show @ Oxegen 06 and toured with established Irish bands such as The Blizzards & Director.

In December 2007 Jester released their second single "Scream" as a download only which reached number 2 in the download charts. In 2008 they finished recording two tracks with legendary producer Larry Hogan in Loft Studios. The sessions were engineered by Joe Egan.

In March 2019 Jester released their debut album "Shadows Need A Light" with UK label Velvet Moron Records
