About Voodoo Loons

Voodoo Loons is a band of Irishmen and an American based in Cincinnati, US and Donegal, IE. The band consists of Dennis O'Hagan from Donegal (guitars/vox), Bill McCarthy from Cork (drums/vox) and American Chris Hooks (bass). Combining punkish abrasiveness with heady psychedelia, the Loons have been building a following throughout the U.S. and EU. Inspired by the grassroots efforts of those who pioneered tape trading, etc., the Loons encourage taping and trading of their shows, and do periodic online live shows via their website. They also put virtually all of their music on their website for stream and download.

In early 2008 Voodoo Loons released the LP "Euphobia", which is available via download at iTunes and many other online outlets. CDs are available via the Loons website (along with a free limited edition EP, "Rough Mixes", featuring demos, outtakes, and a cover of Lennon's "Instant Karma").

I purchased "Euphobia" and am quite enjoying it. Rocks good and hard up front, then starts taking on more layers as they introduce mandolins, piano, and so forth. Where are the shows???

Their new album is now available via download, and they have a special deal starting Dec. 14 where if you order the CD from their website you get a bonus disc of rarities and demos and stuff.
