About Kraik
Kraik are a groove-metal quintet from Inishowen, who blend crushing riffs, dynamic rhythms and death metal vocals with influences spanning groove, progressive, death and grunge metal. They formed around 2018 out of the ashes of an earlier band Pursuit Of Ruin. Joey McLaughlin, Shaun McGonagle and Nigel Colhoun were in Pursuit of Ruin. After some lineup changes and pandemic setbacks, they began releasing music in 2023 with their debut single Effigy. Their follow-up The Neon Piper (2024) showcases forceful percussion, brooding grooves and lyrical themes challenging apathy and modern narratives, drawing comparisons to bands like Pantera, Mastodon, Gojira and Alice in Chains.
