Muireann Bradley from Ballybofey was introduced to early American country blues by her father, she began playing guitar at nine and gained wider attention during the COVID-19 lockdowns through YouTube performances of Blind Blake and other pre-war blues artists.
In 2023 she released her debut album I Kept These Old Blues on Tompkins Square Records, recorded largely in single takes with voice and guitar. The record was praised for its authentic fingerstyle technique and emotional delivery, leading to a breakthrough performance on Jools Holland’s Annual Hootenanny on 31 December 2023.
Bradley’s growing reputation brought festival appearances across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe, as well as radio sessions for BBC and RTÉ. By late 2024 her online performances had drawn millions of views. She signed to Decca Records in December 2024, which reissued her debut album on vinyl in 2025 with a bonus track. That year she began her first major international tour, including shows in Australia, the United States, Canada, and Europe.
